Airtable
Airtable is hiring infrastructure engineers to strengthen its platform as the company scales rapidly. The role involves designing and improving critical backend systems that support both established product features and emerging AI capabilities. Engineers will own components end-to-end, focusing on reliability, performance, and developer experience while tackling complex systems-level challenges across databases, distributed systems, and service architectures. The position suits engineers with 4-8 years of experience who thrive in fast-moving environments and enjoy learning emerging technologies. Candidates should have backgrounds in areas like databases, distributed systems, Kubernetes, or API infrastructure. Four specialized teams are hiring: Asynchronous Serving (scaling job queues and streaming systems for AI), Compute (managing Kubernetes clusters and building operators), Developer Platform (internal tooling and CI/CD), and Traffic Engineering (API gateways, edge networking, and rate limiting). This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 office days per week in San Francisco (Embarcadero), New York (Soho), or fully remote in the greater Seattle area.
