Cloud Chamber (2K) is seeking a Senior Rendering Engineer to advance the visual capabilities of their upcoming BioShock title using Unreal Engine 5. You'll own shader development, build innovative rendering systems, integrate third-party solutions, and tackle performance optimization challenges while collaborating with technical artists, art directors, and the lead rendering engineer to translate creative vision into technical reality. Your day-to-day work includes converting art direction into rendering code and shader systems, building tools and pipelines for artists, debugging visual and performance issues, and mentoring junior engineers. You'll communicate closely with the art team to find efficient solutions and stay current with industry advancements to overcome development hurdles. This role requires a Computer Science degree and 5+ years of experience shipping at least one AAA console or PC title in a senior graphics role. You'll need strong C/C++ and 3D math skills, hands-on experience with modern GPUs and current-generation graphics APIs, and proficiency with debugging and profiling tools. Familiarity with Unreal Engine and exposure to tools like Houdini, Substance Painter, or Z-Brush are valuable. The position is based in Novato, California and demands someone who's a reliable team player, excellent communicator, and self-motivated problem-solver.

As a Senior Rendering Engineer at Cloud Chamber you will join our talented development team to help push Unreal Engine 5 towards our combined vision. You’ll collaborate with a passionate group of game developers including our Lead Rendering Engineer, Technical Artists, and Art Direction. You will be responsible for modifying core shaders, developing new rendering technologies, working to integrate third party solutions, and making performance optimizations for rendering based challenges, all of which will ultimately help in bringing the richly imagined world of BioShock to life.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $108,900 - $161,160 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program.
