2K's Brighton-based studio (known for the Mafia franchise) is seeking a Senior Gameplay and Animation Engineer to develop core systems within Unreal Engine 5. You'll own and evolve gameplay and animation technology while collaborating with animators, artists, designers, and engineers to deliver cinematic, narrative-driven AAA experiences. The role involves prototyping features, maintaining code pipelines and tools, estimating technical scope, and identifying solutions to development challenges. This position suits experienced programmers with shipped AAA titles under their belt, particularly those comfortable in Unreal Engine with strong C++ and 3D mathematics fundamentals. You'll need hands-on knowledge of Unreal's Gameplay Ability System, animation principles, and Object-Oriented design. Beyond technical depth, the ideal candidate balances independent problem-solving with strong cross-disciplinary communication and unwavering commitment to code quality. Bonus qualifications include console development experience (PS5, Xbox Series X/S), expertise with character controllers and camera systems, and specialized animation knowledge such as inverse kinematics, ragdoll physics, procedural techniques, or machine learning-driven approaches. This is a permanent role reporting to the Lead Engineer, with Brighton preferred but opportunities also available in Brno and Prague.

Job Summary
As a Senior Gameplay & Animation Engineer you will set a high bar for code quality and a passion for gameplay and animation. In this role, you will own and continue the development of our key gameplay and animation systems, you will extend and maintain the code of our technology, tools, and pipelines, working closely with the animators, character artists, designers, and programmers to help develop spectacular gameplay features for our games.
