10x Genomics is building out a clinical diagnostics division and needs a Scientist II in clinical bioinformatics to translate single-cell and spatial transcriptomics technologies into real-world clinical applications. You'll tackle complex biological problems by developing computational and statistical approaches, then apply them to massive datasets to uncover clinically relevant findings. The work spans biomarker design, pipeline development, and validation across hundreds or thousands of samples processed with 10x's cutting-edge platforms. The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, or related field, with at least two years of post-doctoral industry experience and demonstrated expertise analyzing large-scale single-cell or spatial datasets. You'll need strong statistical reasoning, proficiency in Linux environments, and the ability to write robust, scalable code. Independent problem-solving, meticulous attention to detail, and a biology-focused mindset are essential. This full-time role based in Pleasanton, California offers a base salary of $123,400–$167,000 USD plus equity grants, comprehensive benefits, and an annual bonus. Prior hands-on experience with 10x technologies or research in cancer and autoimmune disease is highly preferred, as is familiarity with machine learning, workflow frameworks like Snakemake or Nextflow, and high-performance computing infrastructure.

10x Genomics is establishing a diagnostics effort, translating our leading single-cell and spatial assay technologies into impactful clinical applications. We are seeking a Scientist II to join the clinical bioinformatics team. The ideal candidate excels at distilling complex biological questions into actionable computational strategies, implementing computational/statistical methods and applying them to large-scale single-cell or spatial transcriptomics datasets to derive clinically meaningful insights.
