Allen Control Systems
Allen Control Systems, a defense-focused startup founded by former Navy engineers, seeks a Controls Engineer to develop motor and motion control systems for autonomous platforms. You'll design and refine high-precision motor control algorithms, build simulation and testing frameworks in Python or C++, and work closely with embedded software and computer vision teams to integrate control solutions into real-time autonomous systems. Responsibilities span system dynamics analysis, algorithm development, field testing support, and documentation of control strategies. This role suits engineers with a Master's degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering or robotics, backed by at least three years of controls engineering experience. You should demonstrate strong Python proficiency and solid understanding of control theory fundamentals like PID tuning, state estimation, and feedback loops. Experience with flight control systems, motor control algorithms, or real-time motion applications is essential, as is familiarity with simulation tools and Git workflows. The position offers competitive salary, equity, and full benefits in Austin, TX. Additional expertise in C/C++ embedded systems, MATLAB/Simulink, autonomous robotics platforms, sensor fusion, Kalman filtering, or defense/aerospace systems will strengthen your candidacy.
