Allen Control Systems, a defense-focused startup founded by former Navy engineers, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for their Austin, TX facility working the 2nd shift. You'll set up and operate multi-axis CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision parts for advanced autonomous systems, programming machines using G-code and CAM software like Mastercam or Fusion 360. Your responsibilities include reading complex technical drawings with GD&T specifications, inspecting finished parts with precision tools, performing routine machine maintenance, and collaborating with engineering teams to optimize production processes. This role is ideal for someone with at least 5 years of hands-on CNC mill and lathe programming experience who thrives in fast-paced, innovative environments. You should be comfortable interpreting detailed blueprints, working independently, and maintaining strict quality and safety standards. A background in CNC apprenticeship or vocational training is preferred, along with proficiency in CAM programming and familiarity with standard shop tools.
