This role is essential to keeping clients' cloud infrastructure running smoothly while working alongside a team that values collaboration and accountability. This position suits candidates with 1-2 years of Azure and cloud infrastructure experience, ideally from managed services or NOC environments. You should be comfortable with Windows and Linux administration, understand ITIL processes, and have hands-on knowledge of Azure services like Policy, Monitor, and Defender. PowerShell and KQL scripting experience is valuable, as are Microsoft certifications like AZ-104 or ITIL Foundation. The GDC Associate Cloud Engineer is a member of 3Cloud’s managed services team. He or she is responsible for ongoing technical support, handling escalations from a monitoring team and leading proactive task-based work (e.g. maintenance) for all supported client’s Azure environments. As a GDC Associate Cloud Engineer, you will be a part of our core team who is essential to the success of our Managed Services division.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Codes all unassigned tickets
- Initial support and acknowledgement on all alerting tickets both in the ticketing system and Logic Monitor
- Creates and manages Microsoft support escalation tickets
- Performs VM resizes and new VM creations when time permits
- Troubleshoots and re-installs Azure agents for backups and patching
- Provides initial support for backup failures tickets
- Assists with patching where required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 1 - 2 years of Azure experience and have worked with a ticketing system
- 1 - 2 years of experience with cloud servers, services and software or equivalent system admin experience with on-prem server and virtualization environments
- Experience in a 24x7 managed services hosted service company, or Network Operations Center environment
- Experience with ITIL processes and associated ITSM systems and service portals for Incident and Change Management
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud-based environments (e.g. AWS), including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
- Experience with Windows and Linux system administration, supporting and scaling virtual server cloud or on-prem environments and solving network issues
- Experience with Azure native services (e.g. Policy, Cost Management, Active Directory, Lighthouse, Monitor/Log Analytics, Microsoft Defender for Cloud)
- Understanding of system admin concepts including, but not limited to virtualization, containers, disk storage, encryption, security, network connectivity, firewalls and load balancers
- Understanding of network concepts and principles and experience in managing and troubleshooting network devices and connectivity
- Operational knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell and Kusto-Query Language (KQL)
- Experience with Azure-based deployments and migrations or other cloud platforms is a plus
- Having passed Microsoft Azure certification AZ-104 is a plus
- ITIL foundation certification preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A passion for problem solving and learning new technologies
- Client relationship skills and experience managing vendors
- Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
- Strong desire for personal development and learning
