Allen Control Systems, a defense startup founded by former Navy engineers, is seeking an experienced drone operator to expand its flight operations team in Austin, TX. You'll be responsible for piloting, building, and maintaining advanced UAV systems used in testing and real-world missions. Your work will involve executing complex flight operations, collecting aerial data to support computer vision development, conducting performance evaluations, and collaborating with engineering teams to refine drone capabilities and procedures. The ideal candidate holds a Part 107 pilot certification and brings 3+ years of hands-on drone operation or robotics experience, including proficiency in Mission Planner and Beta Flight software. You should have practical knowledge of drone construction and troubleshooting, understand current military applications of UAVs globally, and be comfortable working in experimental, fast-paced environments. Strong problem-solving abilities and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential.
