About the role

AEVEX seeks an experienced A&P Mechanic II to maintain, inspect, and repair C-146A Wolfhound aircraft and their systems at the Crestview, Florida facility. You'll handle routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and avionics problems, replace defective components, and conduct scheduled inspections while maintaining detailed records. The role involves sheet metal and composite repairs, corrosion detection, and compliance with aviation safety standards. You may mentor junior mechanics and could travel within the continental U.S. or internationally as needed. This position requires a current A&P license, high school diploma, and three to eight years of aircraft maintenance experience ideally involving C-146A platforms. You'll need to pass medical and dental physicals for deployments, hold a current Secret DoD security clearance, and be a U.S. citizen. The work is physically demanding, requiring extended standing, repetitive hand movements, overhead reaching, and frequent bending or kneeling, with occasional lifting up to 70 pounds. Work Arrangement

This is an onsite position with potential CONUS and OCONUS travel.

Job Overview

The A&P Mechanic performs maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft and related systems. Inspects aircraft components to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Troubleshoots mechanical and avionics issues, replaces or repairs defective parts, and conducts routine preventive maintenance. Works under general supervision and may mentor junior mechanics.

Essential Functions

  • Completes aircraft and engine maintenance as required
  • Follows established and normal aviation safety procedures and processes
  • Maintains complete and accurate maintenance records
  • Conducts scheduled inspections and completes follow-up as required
  • Inspects engines, landing gear, instruments, pressurized sections, brakes, valves, pumps, air conditioning systems and other aircraft related systems
  • Completes necessary maintenance and repairs (replacements) on the aircraft, its subsystems, and components
  • Repairs sheet metal or composite surfaces and assemblies
  • Checks for and corrects corrosion, distortion, and cracks in the fuselage, wings, and tail and other sub-assemblies IAW with applicable instructions and directives
  • Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all AEVEX Aerospace Policies, Procedures, and Compliance regulations (internal and external)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • C-146A Wolfhound is the aircraft
  • Must be able to pass a medical/dental physical for deployments
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings

Education / Certifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Must have A&P license

Experience

  • 3-8 years of aircraft Maintenance experience.
  • Experience working on C-146A Wolfhound aircraft
