# Staff, Backend Engineer - Catalog at DataHub

DataHub is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to lead development of its Platform framework, the foundational infrastructure that integrates diverse data systems and enables enterprise-scale metadata collection. You'll architect scalable ingestion pipelines, design clean APIs for connector ecosystems, build event-driven systems for real-time metadata processing, and create versioning solutions for AI assets like training data and model weights. This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure and impact—your work will directly influence how thousands of organizations safely deploy AI systems at scale.

This position requires 8+ years of production distributed systems experience with advanced Python expertise and proven API design skills. You should have hands-on experience building high-scale data processing frameworks, designing storage and indexing architectures, and operating services handling 100+ queries per second with mature monitoring and alerting. Experience with LLM development at scale is a valuable plus, along with fluency in Java, Scala, Kotlin, C#, or Go. Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines is expected.
