# Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting at AEVEX

AEVEX seeks a seasoned accounting leader to oversee SEC filings, technical accounting research, and financial reporting compliance. This director-level role involves managing the full lifecycle of 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K submissions and registration statements, conducting complex accounting research on transactions like business combinations and leases, and drafting technical memoranda that support audit and disclosure decisions. You'll partner across Finance, Legal, Investor Relations, and external audit teams to ensure timely, accurate regulatory submissions while staying current on evolving FASB and SEC guidance.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of public company accounting or Big Four experience with demonstrated expertise in US GAAP, SEC reporting, and technical accounting for sophisticated transactions. A CPA is required, along with deep familiarity with ASC standards including 606, 842, 805, and 718. You should be skilled in Excel, financial reporting systems, and XBRL tagging, with proven ability to communicate complex accounting issues to non-financial stakeholders and lead through influence.

This full-time position is based remotely or in Solana Beach, California and requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance. The role includes team leadership, policy development, SOX compliance management, and mentoring accounting staff on technical matters.
